Kilimanjaro

Mount Kilimanjaro

Africa's highest mountain peak, at 5,895m above sea level, and the world's highest freestanding volcano, Kilimanjaro draws visitors with its awe and splendour. A world heritage site, it is home to the Chagga people, and to a wealth of birds and wildlife.

Kilimanjaro was formed over 1 million years ago by volcanic movement along the Rift Valley. The highest point is Uhuru Peak on Kibo, which is one of the Seven Summits of the world. The rewards of a climb are not just the conquering of the mountain – at the summit you will be at the top of Africa, watching the sun rise on a new day across the plains far below.

Unique 7 Day RONGAI

The Rongai Route is the only trail route that approaches Kilimanjaro from the northern flanks, with the start point sitting just inside the Tanzanian border. The Unique Rongai Route has been conceived specifically to address some of the weaknesses found in the other routes.

Unique 7 Day LEMOSHO

We pioneered the Unique Lemosho route (northern circuit route) in July 2008, as a means of creating a totally unique Lemosho Route and avoiding exposure to a) the crowding on the traditional Lemosho Route and b) the crowding at the assault start points at Barafu and Kibo Huts.

7 Day LEMOSHO

The Lemosho Route is a very beautiful and unspoilt route that still enjoys sighting of wild game along the forest section. For those seeking a quiet route away from the crowds it clearly a superior option for the first two days of movement. Thereafter, however, the route is precisely the same as the Machame Route.

7 Day MACHAME

The Machame route is very popular because access is relatively straightforward from both Arusha and Moshi, but unfortunately for that reason it does become very crowded.

13 Days Summit Kilimanjaro and Serengeti

A thrilling, and breath-taking 6 day climb up to the top of Kilimanjaro, the highest freestanding mountain in the world, via the Machame route, before being whisked off to the Serengeti in search of the Wildebeest Migration.
